In the Face of Hope

If hope had a face it would be sunshine and freckles

Silly and Sanguine
Passionate and true

If the right path had feet they’d be steady
winding wildflowers, waters canoe

If love had hair it’d be brown
Thick and twirling ‘round finger and crown

If dreams had arms they’d be strong
sensing circling comforting among

If understanding had hands they’d be firm
Calming, conciliating, the desolate’s yearn

If security had shoulders they’d be broad
Full of humility, consistency, shimmies and songs

If contentment had a smile it’d be warm
softly melting and molding my neptune form

If peace had eyes they’d be blue
joy that jaunts jolly through azure hues

If hope had a face it would be sunshine and freckles

Silly and Sanguine
Passionate and true

And if hope had a face it’d be you
