Commissioned for the Creative Institute of Central Arkansas and sponsored by Nabholz Construction, this piece represents ideas and movements taking flight through community cooperation.
This piece was commissioned by Nexus Coffee & Creative. They wanted something that represented the roots of the community of Little Rock, a city nourished by its people working together and coffee! I think we hit the mark.
This was one of my personal exploration pieces. I painted freely, without formal planning or client oversight, and I took the time to follow creative whims and expand my personal style. It stands about 11 feet tall and 5 feet wide. On September 25, 2021, I said "I do" standing in the shadows of this piece.
Before I painted full-time, I taught regular yoga classes. In my training I remember learning about the idea of "the mud and the lotus" and how, sometimes, we have to grow through hard things before we can flourish and bloom in our full potential. This piece is installed in Argenta, a community making intentional strides towards growth of the arts and support of local businesses.
